Lange Cabaret Tourbillon Launch

I have received clearance to release the information, so here are the pictures and information on the new, amazing piece from Lange.

The tourbillon - cage size 10.4mm, the same dimension as for Lange 1 Tourbillon. In comparison the Pour le Merite and Tourbograph tourbillon cage measures 12.6mm. The tourbillon itself comprises of 84 parts, compared to 72 parts in the Lange 1 Tourbillon. Note the tourbillon staff is beautifully polished.

To be available in both platinum and rose gold, this will be the first Lange tourbillon which is not a limited edition.

The case of the new watch is larger than the original Cabaret.
The new case measures 29.5 x 39.2 x 10.25 millimetres compared to of 25.5 x 36.3 x 9.1 mm for the original Cabaret Ref 107.

The increased size is very comfortable, and updates the case of the Cabaret. The original L107 now looks classic and the Cabaret Tourbillon is porportionally similar, but looks in line with large watches.

A wrist shot on my 7.5" wrist.

The watch will feature a 5 day power reserve, unusual (though not unique) for a tourbillon wristwatch.

The watch also features flying transmission wheels for the keyless winding works, These can be seen as a feature of the movement…now caliber L042.1.

And the Lange twist to the interpretation of a form movement tourbillon is a world first…the ability of the movement to hack the tourbillon. This feat is accomplished by the fingers which is engaged by the keyless works when the crown is pulled, and the lever fingers stop the balance, thereby stopping the movement.

Shown below is the finger just touching the screw of the balance, and just a hair from touching the cage proper.

Depending on when the owner pulls the crown, the finger may hack the movement by either touching the balance at the screw, the balance proper or at the tourbillon cage. For this reason, the fingers are assymetrical.

The movement taken as a whole...exceptional finish, beautiful design. See finishing is exceptional, for e.g. the click is polished, and anglage applied.

The recommended retail for the rose gold is Euro180k, and for platinum is Euro205k.

I will leave you with a picture of me wearing the Lange Cabaret Tourbillon...obviously, a very happy, happy man.
